In a sunny, San Diego suburb not far from Danny Way and few blocks from Jake Brown, another Australian skater, Jake Duncombe watches his dog leap into the pool, then cracks a warm beer, lights a smoke and stretches out on a patio littered with the remnants of a two day bash. To be sure, if the pool was any good for skating there wouldn’t be any water for his dog to swim in. A little hung-over, a little crazed Duncombe has a Street Skate style that terrorizes all forms of skateboarding terrain, be they rails, stairs, ledges or pools. With a mischievous grin and that typical Aussie fearlessness to jump in, Jake embodies the spirit of stoke. This is the flavor of skate life that makes every kid with a deck want to live it just like that.
